Data Management

Introduction

The NIG provideds a data management capability:

  • Receive Neuroimaging data (MR, OM, EM) into a Digital Asset Management System
  • Organize and store the data in a Data Model
  • Associate Meta-data with the data
  • Apply role-based (user) authorization access to the data
  • Provide interfaces for users to access their data
  • Replicate data between servers
  • Support distributed queries in a Federation

Our system is built with a product called Mediaflux, provided by a local Melbourne company called Arcitecta. Mediaflux is a very capable, extensible Java framework.

Access to the Systems

We have a production and test system that you can access. You can use the test system to trial the interfaces when reading the documention below. First you need an account and then you need to know where to point your browser to access the portals.

Working with the Data Archive

The data management system is now called the Distributed and Reflective Informatics System (DaRIS). The old interface to the system is called the RIA. The new interface recently (Jul 2011) deployed is called the DaRIS portal.
